Ever since my previous pencil skirt bit the dust – meaning it was no longer black, the stretch that held my tummy in was now stretched out, and the length was outdated – I was on the look out for a replacement.
Sounds easy, right? Sure, every retailer and their sister carries a black pencil skirt in their stock. Not! Finding one that fit, was comfortable, and the length I was after, was proving to be quite a challenge this past fall, winter and into spring. All until one day, when I wasn’t looking, my perfect skirt appeared! Without even looking at the price, I headed toward the fitting rooms, toting a few other skirts, that I had picked up on the way, to try on.
I got to said skirt, after trying on a few others from Theory, Kate Spade and Tory Burch – and to my disbelief, my mission was accomplished! Now, for how much, I thought to myself, and flipped the ticket over. I did a double take, when the price on the ticket was, $34.97!
Regularly $98.00, from Amanda and Chelsea, this high-waisted skirt was a steal, and it checked all the boxes in my search. Now you say, why didn’t I share this deal with you all sooner? Truth be told, when I grabbed it up at the Nordstrom Rack back in April, it was a onesie-just hanging out all by itself, with a bunch of other black skirts.
Last week, while browsing NordstromRack.com, what did I come across? Available in black and grey, my favorite work skirt, in stock in all sizes- now I’m sharing!
Sizing: For me, this skirt ran true to size
Here she is, you can check out the details over at NordstromRack.com HERE
Ok, so is this the most fabulously crafted skirt that will last me a lifetime? No. But, at $34.97, it comes with a belt, it’s fully lined, has some stretch and is an updated style-it totally works! And is a steal! For all Amanda and Chelsea career basics (note: I have not seen these all in person) | Nordstrom Rack, HERE
Here’s a peek, at a few ways I have been wearing this skirt for work:
Ann Taylor denim blazer | Michael Kors camp shirt | MK zebra tote | patent sandals.
Michael Kors camp shirt | Prada cap toe pumps | Young Villagers studded hobo
add this fun topper by Krissa
Theory fitted tank | Trina Turk jacket, | Alexis Bitter layered necklace and horn earrings | patent sandals | H&M belt in gold
Michael Kors camp shirt | DVF leopard cardigan purchased at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
The possibilities are endless!
For alternate looks, I wear a white shirt or black or white tank and switch out the topper, shoes, bag and accessories! Getting dressed for work, when you have a go-to uniform, is a piece of cake!
